Hi family, friends, and family friends! I'm glad you're here :)
As most of you know, I am studying abroad this upcoming spring semester (January 19 - May 17). I am super excited to travel, and I cannot wait to share it with all of you!
Here are some quick questions about me and my trip that I get asked often!
Where are you going? Seville, Spain.
When do you leave? I fly out of Omaha on January 19 and arrive in Seville on January 20.
When do you get back? I'm leaving May 17, so I should be home May 18.
Do you speak Spanish? Yes!... Kind of. I took 4 years of Spanish in high school and 4 semesters in college. Currently, I am one class away from my minor in Spanish, but I might decide to double major. I've taken multiple placement tests, and I am at the intermediate level. Not quite fluent but hopefully close after this!
Are you going with a group or anyone else? No actually! My program is through a company called ISA. There are many students from the US who are doing this same program, but none are from SDSU!
What are you going to be doing while you're there? I'll be taking classes through a university located in Seville! In September or October, I submitted a list of classes I would possibly like to take. Then, when I arrive, I will take a placement exam and set my class schedule! Aside from schoolwork, my second priority is travel!
Are you excited? Nervous? Definitely more excited than nervous. For a long time, it felt so far away that there was no point in thinking about it. Plus, during the semester I was worried about homework, tests, working, hanging out with friends, finals, etc. Now that I leave 2 weeks from today (January 5), it's surreal!
Do you plan on visiting other places while you're there? Yes! Just recently I signed up for an excursion through my study abroad program that is going to Morocco! Other places I would love to go include England, Portugal, France, Italy, and Germany!
I am so grateful for the love and support that I have gotten so far, and I cannot wait to be in Spain! Thank you for being excited for me!
That's where I'll be!
